Canada Announces Relief for Visit-Visa Holders
The deadline for visitors with employment offers to apply for a work permit without leaving the country has been extended by the Canadian government.
Individuals who are applying under this new policy who had a work permit during the last 12 months may also ask to begin working for their new employer sooner.
The insurance coverage, which was originally scheduled to end on February 28,2022, will now last until February 28, 2025.
With this extension, Canadian businesses will be able to handle their staffing crisis.
Prior to this arrangement, visitors who received a job offer had to depart Canada in order to obtain a work permit.
- Have a valid visitor status in Canada when applying.
- Receive a job offer that is approved by a Labour Market Impact Assessment (LMIA) or an LMIA-exempt offer of employment.
- Submit an application for an employer-specific work permit on or before the above-mentioned deadline.
- Fulfill all other requirements.
