Elon Musk to stepdown as Twitter CEO
Previously, Musk polled Twitter users about whether he should continue serving as CEO.
More than 57% of the millions who cast ballots agreed that he should resign from his position.
Musk has now stated that he will leave his position as Twitter’s CEO as soon as a replacement is found, after remaining silent for a time.
He further added: “I will resign as CEO as soon as I find someone foolish enough to take the job! After that, I will just run the software & servers teams.”
After weeks of turmoil surrounding the social media platform, Twitter users made it very apparent to Musk earlier this week that the majority of them wanted him to resign from his position.
In the poll asked “Should I step down as leader of Twitter?” roughly 57.5% of the 17.5 million participants responded in the yes.
Musk eventually took control of Twitter at the end of October after numerous legal battles that lasted over months and nearly resulted in a full-blown trial. Musk entered Twitter’s offices holding a sink after finalizing the $44 billion deal.
Mass layoffs, disputes over blue checkmarks, the restoration of Donald Trump’s account, the banning of several journalists, the restriction on promoting other social media platforms, and Twitter’s daily loss of millions of dollars have all occurred during the past two months.
Netizens seem to be excited as Elon Musk to stepdown as Twitter CEO.
