
Islamabad: The Ministry of Finance considered the proposition of IT Minister Syed Amin Ul Haq and agreed to pay off the $34 million outstanding dues to Google. Therefore, Google services in Pakistan will not be suspended from 1st December onwards.
IT Minister Syed Amin Ul Haq confirmed the news by saying “within a month, the Ministry of IT, Finance and State Bank will formulate a plan of action by mutual decisions.
Last week the State Bank of Pakistan suspended $34 million payments to the international service providers such as Google, Meta, and Amazon etc.
There were rumors making rounds on social media and news channels that Google Play Store services will not available in Pakistan from 1st December onwards.
The Federal Minister Ishaq Dar old that the telecom operators had written to the IT Ministry for assistance and also wrote to him to make payments to the international service providers.
Therefore, the State Bank of Pakistan is instructed to delay the implementation of policy by one month. The mobile operators are also given a month time to implement the payment procedure.
