HEC New policy eliminates MS/MPhils programs leading to P.H.D.S. The Higher education commission (HEC) has discontinued the ‘MS/MPhil leading to P.H.D’ programs in its new P.H.D admission Policy.
According to the new policy document, universities with less than 10 years of existence have been restricted from starting specialized P.H.D. Programs, and further admission to these program have been prohibited.
Universities have also been barred from launching more than two P.H.D. programs a year. HEC chairman said that the condition of having an MS or MPhil degree for admission to a P.H.D has been abolished, saying an individual with 16 year of education or BSccan directly enroll in a doctorate program.
The chairman observed that students face a lot of trouble in finding employment after graduating from a University.
