Lahore students to get free metro ride
All students who wear uniforms will now receive free rides on Lahore’s metro and orange line train, in an effort to boost students’ education and ease commutes.
On all days of the week and throughout operating hours, Lahore students who are in uniform will be allowed to use the free transport service on the Orange Line Metro Train (OLMT), Metro Bus Service, and Speedo Bus.
Syed Mohsin Raza Naqvi, the caretaker chief minister of Punjab, made the announcement during a meeting of the Provincial Cabinet on Sunday (today).
Due to the reduction in transportation costs for many families, the change will encourage more kids to attend class consistently and on time.
Students only need to show their school uniforms to the bus operators or drivers in order to ride for free.
