Nishan-e-Haider Recipients Pakistan
The Nishan-e-Haider is Pakistan’s highest military honour. In Urdu, it literally means “Emblem of the Lion.” Hazrat Ali, revered as the “Lion of God,” is known as Haider. Only members of the Pakistani Armed Forces are eligible to receive the Nishan-e-Haider for the greatest deeds of remarkable bravery against the enemy on land, at sea, or in the air. The fact that it has only been given out 11 times since Pakistan’s independence speaks to its significance. Here is a list of all the Nishan-e-Haider Recipients Pakistan to date.
1. Naik Saif Ali Janjua: Hilal-e-Kashmir

Naik Saif Ali Janjua fought in the Kashmir sector during the 1948 War and was killed during the siege of Bhudha Khanna. He set personal examples of bravery and inflicted heavy losses on the enemy at Bhudha Khanna. Moreover, he defended his post bravely with just a handful of men.

2. Captain Raja Muhammad Sarwar

He took part in the Kashmir conflict as the signal officer. Captain Raja Muhammad Sarwar showed amazing valour at the fight of Tilpatra, killing about 40 enemy, before being killed by a machine gun shot.
He served in Berma for a limited period of time and was given the Berma Star by British authorities in Delhi, India. Lt. Sarwar was a devoted Muslim and was reputed to be a man without any non-sense.

3. Major Tufail Mohammad

He displayed courage and leadership by attacking forces that had entered from India. Even though he was severely hurt, he led his forces through the intense fighting. Successful eviction of enemy troops led to the area’s recapture. He was brave, fearless, and a patriot who led by example in daring, bravery, leadership, and tenacity. His name is now immortalised in history’s pages in glowing terms.

4. Major Raja Aziz Bhatti

As a Company Commander on September6,1965, in the Burki region of the Lahore sector, Major Raja Aziz Bhatti made the decision to stay with his forward platoon in the face of an armour division offensive while being shelled nonstop for five days.
First PMA Long Course graduate to receive the Norman Medal and Sword of Honor are Major Raja Aziz Bhatti Shaheed. He was a distinguished commander who demonstrated daring and bravery during his military career.

5. Pilot Officer Rashid Minhas

When his instructor pilot forcibly removed Pilot Officer Rashid Minhas from the back cockpit, took over control of the aircraft, and started the engine, he was about to take off on a regular training flight. He wrecked the controls and forced the plane to crash 32 miles short of the border in order to stop it from heading in that direction. 6. Major Muhammad Akram

In1971, Major Muhammad Akram oversaw a firm in the Hilli district of East Pakistan’s Hilli. He shot three enemy tanks before embracing martyrdom. As a Captain, Major Akram took part in the 1965 Indo-Pak September War and oversaw several effective military operations against the Indian Army. His leadership, bravery, and astute planning prevented attackers from advancing for five days and nights during the Battle of Hilli.

7. Major Shabbir Sharif

In the 1971 War, he killed 43 Indian soldiers, took a high point near the Sulemanki Headworks, and damaged 4 tanks.
He is the only individual to have ever awarded the Nishan-e-Haider as well as the Sitara-e-Jurat for bravery. He is the older brother of former Chief of Army Staff General Raheel Shareef and the nephew of another Nishan-e-Haider recipient, Major Aziz Bhatti.

8. Sowar Muhammad Hussain Janjua

Sowar Muhammad Hussain actively participated in each combat with the unit during the 1971 conflict. He shot down sixteen enemy army tanks, He was the first member of the Armoured Corps to receive the Nishan E. Haider medal and the personification of bravery.

9. Lance Naik Muhammad Mahfuz

Lance Naik Muhammad Mahfuz took part in the renowned Pul Kunjry operation and took control of the region during the 1971 conflict. His level of bravery was so great that the enemy commander personally complimented him when he handed up his lifeless body during a cease-fire.

10. Captain Karnal Sher Khan

He guarded five stations at a height of 17,000 feet during the Kargil conflict. He carried out numerous attacks on the enemy camps, suffering severe casualties.

11. Hawaldar Lalak Jan

Due to his remarkable valour, bravery, tenacity, enthusiasm, and drive during the Kargil War, he received the Nishan-e-Haider medal.He was the first Northern Areas resident to get the Nishan-e-Haider honour.
