ISLAMABAD: National cricketer Yasir Shah has been acquitted in an alleged rape case.

Police said Yasir Shah has nothing to do with the alleged rape case, after which Islamabad’s Shalimar police station has removed the cricketer’s name from the FIR.

The victim also admitted that Yasir Shah’s name was included in the FIR due to misrepresentation.

Police have issued a supplementary report of FIR according to which the plaintiff has also asked to remove the name of Yasir Shah from the case.

Earlier a case was registered against national Test cricketer Yasir Shah on charges of harassing and assisting in the rape of a 14-year-old girl.

In the FIR, the woman had alleged that Yasir Shah’s friend Farhan, who is prime suspect, had abused her at on gunpoint, made a video and harassed her.

The FIR earlier alleged that Farhan and Yasir Shah threatened that if they told anyone, they would make the video viral and even kill her.
