On the 30th of September, the Pakistan High commission in London Launched the Oxford Pakistan Program at Oxford University in a ceremony including Pakistani diplomats, students, professors and esteemed personalities.
WHAT IS THE OPP?
This program aims to broaden the participation of Pakistani students and academics at Oxford University through funding:
Scholarships for deserving students
fellowships for Pakistani academics
Special lectures on Eastern Philosophy
Pakistanis living in the U.K. have raised £500,000 and have pledged future support as well.

All founders are Oxford University alumni and of Pakistani origin. Pakistani students will be given a chance to study at Oxford University on Scholarships funded by prominent Pakistani Businessmen and educationist as well as the British Pakistani community.
Abdul Ghani Dadabhoy Director of the Dadabhoy Group of companies and strategic advisor of the OPP in Karachi, he has pledged support for a visiting Scholar program and will soft sponsor a Sir Muhammad Iqbal lecture series on Eastern Philosophy.
SYED SHEHERYAR ALI:
The Executive Director of Treet Group of Companies in Pakistan, has pledged support for an annual graduate scholarship the next five years.
Hamid Ismail, Director Ismail Industries Ltd, CEO Bisconni, President Hamid Ismail Foundation, has pledged to support a visiting fellowship that will allow a researcher from a Public sector university in Pakistan to research at Oxford for at least one term.
Malala Yousafzai Activist for women’s rights said, “I am very honoured to announce that I will be supporting one graduate Scholarship [For Women] for the next five years.” The Pakistani High Commission in London launched the Oxford Pakistan Program.
Under the Program, Pakistani Student at Oxford University on Scholarships funded by Prominent Pakistani businessmen and educationist as well as the British Pakistani Community. The project will help strengthen academic linkages between UK and Pakistan.
