The blackout was caused by a frequency fluctuation that originated in Guddu early Monday morning, according to the report. 500KV wires from Guddu were tripped as a result.
The frequency of Guddu was 50MHz before to the issue. However, it abruptly increased to 57MHz, which caused the transmission lines to trip. Transmission lines at Tarbela, Mangla, and Warsak were also disrupted as a result of the chain reaction.
Most of the nation, including Islamabad, Karachi, Lahore, Quetta, and other significant cities, witnessed an hours-long power outage around 7:34 AM.
Teams from NTDC acted quickly to restore the power supply. They worked on fixing the problem for several hours. The majority of the country had electricity by Monday night.
Federal Energy Minister Khurram Dastgir Khan expressed his suspicions about a cyberattack in a press conference on Tuesday, January24, 24.In spite of the remote possibility of hackers being involved, he continued, NTDC would look into the matter to rule them out.
