United Nation women agency has given the Title of "Harassment-free" Airline in the world to the national carrier of Pakistan, Pakistan International Airline (PIA)

The United Nation women agency has given the Title of “Harassment-free” Airline in the world to the national carrier of Pakistan, Pakistan International Airline (PIA).

“With nearly half of workforce of Pakistan comprising of women, that often feel bared to fully contribute in the society and economic prosperity, due to Preceived and real hazards faced during transportation. It is every women’s and girl’s right that they are provided with the same opportunity to travel freely and without fear of being harassed,” read an official statement.

Speaking on the Occasion, PIA CEO Air Marshal Arshad Malik said. “We pledge as an organization to create a safer transport environment for women whether it is in the offices or during transportation.”

The national carrier will be given the harassment-free airline award at a ceremony to be held in Islamabad.

Sources said that PIA CEO Arshad Malik, Federal Ombudsperson for protection against Harassment of women Kashmala Tariq and the United Nations representatives will attend the ceremony.

In the Past of month, PIA earned fame and received appreciation from international organizations and the UN for uplifting foreign nationals and Journalists in August-the day Taliban took over Kabul-and continuing its humanitarian flights carrying food and to Afghan brethren.
