Veteran actor Qavi Khan passes away at 80
LAHORE: Legendary actor Qavi Khan, who was receiving treatment in Canada for a kidney condition, passed away there on Sunday. He was 80 years old.
Qavi Khan began his professional life as a kid star on Peshawar’s Radio Pakistan.
Lakhon Mein Aik served as the foundation for his professional career, whereas Andhera Ujala brought him universal praise in Pakistan. Fishaar, Lahori Gate, Muthi Bhar Matti, Baityaan, Cinderella, and Durr-i-Shahwar are a few of his other TV dramas.
Qavi Khan entered the film business in 1965.Mauhabbat Zindagi Hai, Chand Suraj, Sarfarosh, Kalay Chor, and Zameen Asman are just some of his movies.
In recognition of Qavi Khan‘s contributions to the nation and the entertainment sector, the government gave him the Pride of Performance and the Sitara-i-Imtiaz in 1980.
Mohsin Naqvi, the interim chief minister of Punjab, released a statement in which he expressed his sorrow on the actor’s passing.
Imran Khan, a former prime minister, too expressed sympathy for his loss.
Senior theatre producer Qaiser Javed also mourned on the death of the famous actor. He remarked that Qavi Khan’s death left a hole that could not be filled.
The arts councils have stated that they will be hosting commemorations for Qavi Khan.
